Tim Reis, AMFT 137067

Tim Reis earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University, an MBA from Seattle University, and an undergraduate engineering degree from California State University at Long Beach.
Tim spent over 30 years in the business community, which helps him to understand clients in rigorously demanding fields and professions. He has been a basketball coach of adolescents for 4 years. He and his wife of 40 years were foster parents for 10 years and adopted two special-needs children – giving Tim extensive experience in mental health issues of adolescents with traumatic histories.
Tim’s focus is on working with individuals, couples, and teens. With a foundation in Family Systems Theory, he sees each person functioning within an entire system that affects one another, which impacts both symptoms and goals. Employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as having a client-centered approach, Tim treats anxiety, depression, trauma (EMDR), and addictions to alcohol and drugs, sex, and pornography (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist – Candidate).
Tim has provided services to a Community Mental Health Clinic where he worked with a diverse population of adolescents, adults, and couples, on challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, and infidelity. He’s also provided counseling to adult individuals struggling with alcohol and drug addiction at a dual-diagnosis inpatient residential treatment facility.
Tim enjoys time at the beach with family and friends. He’s read extensively about U.S. history, with extra emphasis on past Presidents. He’s interested in sports, especially baseball.
Tim is available at the Irvine location.
