
Dr. Rose Rutherford earned her B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Counseling from Creighton university in Omaha, Nebraska, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate institute in Carpinteria, California.
She completed her clinical training in community mental health in Los Angeles and later worked in inpatient settings as part of a collaborative medical team, supporting individuals through complex and often challenging life experiences. These experiences shaped her thoughtful, compassionate approach to care.
Dr. Rutherford works with children, teens, adults, and families and has experience across outpatient, inpatient, residential, hospital, and private practice settings. Her style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. She integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused strategies, family systems work, and mindfulness to meet each client where they are.
She supports individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, bipolar and neurodevelopmental concerns, as well as life transitions and medical stressors. Dr. Rutherford also enjoys working with parents and families, helping them strengthen communication and build effective coping tools.
Dr. Rutherford believes that meaningful change begins with feeling understood and supported. She prioritizes building a trusting therapeutic relationship, setting goals together, and creating a space where clients feel safe to explore, grow, and reconnect with their strengths. Her goal is to help clients build resilience, clarity, and hope as they move forward.
