Susan Guerrero, MS, LMFT 141140
Sue is a culturally sensitive, person-centered affirming therapist. She has a curious nature, approaching therapy from a psychodynamic lens. She obtained her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and has a passion for helping clients find healthy ways of coping, heal from traumatic experiences and resolve life issues.
Sue collaborates with clients and believes a therapist’s empathic attunement is vital in allowing the client’s nervous system to feel ample safety for growth. Her professional experience includes working with teens, young adults and older adults treating the whole person toward better health in mind, body and spirit.
When working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, chronic stress or pain, identity issues, sexuality, traumatic events, relationship or family conflicts, Susan approaches therapy with great empathy while encouraging clients to use skills learned in session to their daily life as consistently as possible.
Sue works experientially with clients, drawing from evidence-based therapy disciplines of gestalt; mindfulness; narrative and CBT techniques to support mental wellness. Further she specializes in chronic pain treatment and is trained in EMDR therapy to treat trauma, anxiety and depression. She believes personal growth can be challenging, but all the more liberating.
She looks forward to guiding you on your journey back home to self!
When not working, she enjoys going to the dance studio, listening to music, spending time at the beach and playing her trumpet.
Sue is available at the Yorba Linda and Irvine locations under the supervision of Dr. Plant.
