Yi Sun is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who has provided individual and family therapy for over 10 years. She assists clients in exploring issues that prevent them from living their lives to the fullest and teaching them skills to overcome their obstacles. She has earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University along with two Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Family Studies and Child Development. Before becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, she worked as a preschool teacher in the Head Start program teaching children who were considered “at risk” or had special needs.
She works with individuals, children, adolescents and families who are working through a variety of challenges like depression, anxiety, anger, life transitions, grief/loss, addictions, ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome, relationship issues and family problems. She assists the individual in recognizing faulty patterns of beliefs or behaviors which prevent him/her from living a full life. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. She believes it’s important to provide a safe and accepting place for the people that come into her office. There are times when an individual feels stuck or can’t break out of negative patterns, this person can take a positive step and seek assistance.
During her free time, she enjoys dining at restaurants, cooking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
